This is a rant journal so deal with it!!!!!

No but seriously, if there is one thing that gets me peeved more than anything it would be ignorant people! AHHHH!!!!!! There are plenty to go around here in Arkansas and it really gets on my nerves. Why, just today I was talking to a dude in Hastings who once lived in Sweden but now lives here. We were talking about the ignorant people who reside in this town and pretty much the whole nation. The United States is pretty much the laughing stock of the world because we harbor a large population of morons, no joke. Just after I left Hastings to go to a doctor about getting my contacts renewed the people working behind the desk at the clinic were talking about what they were going to do this summer. One lady said and I quote, "This summer weez goin to Portuguese for vacation". I'm serious, she said those exact words. She doesn't even know the name of the very prominent nation in Europe where she is apparently going on vacation; Portugal. The other women in the office didn't even correct her and probably thought Portuguese was a country. Seriously, that kinda stuff just really gets me pissed, I try and let it not annoy the crap out of me, but it just does. I hear that kinda stuff all of the time around here. Just a few days ago I was talking with a girl I know and how she was going to Sri Lanka this summer on a mission trip and a lady next to us asked where Sri Lanka was. She thought it was in South America for crying out loud! The best example of tardness that I can think of happened to me about a week ago in my intro to music class. We were learning about the classical period in music which occured during the 1700s and 1800's and we were talking about a certain date in the mid 1700's. The teacher asked the guy next to me, what important events were happening during this time. He responded with the incredibly intelligent answer of, "Isn't that when Columbus discovered America?". He wasnt joking either, he had a sincere tone in his voice. I just said to him... dude and shook my head. Does this stuff annoy anyone else out there? Just wondering because I am personally ashamed of living here in the U.S., knowing that the rest of the world thinks of us as these ignorant tards, which most Americans are; sorry. Something has to be done about our education system here in the U.S. Don't even get me started on how Christian people are trying to shove their moron agenda onto the schools making children even more ignant.
